Gliding Through the Gallery | Spring Edition
Johannesburg · Johannesburg — the starting point is shared with confirmed guests
Spring is here, and we're excited to kick off a new season of Gliding Through the Gallery. Join cultural connector and curator Mpumi Mayisa for a morning of art, conversation and connection as we move through a curated selection of Johannesburg's galleries. Whether you're art curious, a budding collector or a seasoned art lover, the Glide is an invitation to slow down, look closer, and experience contemporary art in community.
Mpumi Mayisa
Founder of Tsoko Art Advisory, Mpumi is a Johannesburg-based curator, writer and cultural worker whose practice is rooted in deep research and a love for material storytelling.
She has worked across the African art ecosystem as a curator and collaborator — from Junior Curator of the NIROX Foundation Winter Sculpture Exhibition (2018–2020) to curatorial projects like Bathini Abafazi?, A Crescendo of Daydreams, and Hlukanisa, uHlanganise — creating spaces where heritage, memory and contemporary expression intersect.
Through Tsoko Art Advisory she guides collectors to build collections that map identity, foster belonging, and create a legacy for generations to come.
